How should I prepare for my session?
Horse Prep…
Horses don't usually love standing still and posing for the camera; so a lunge, ride or VIGOROUS turnout before the session is a must. Yes, even your super chill horse!
Professional grooming is also highly recommended. The camera picks up every speck of dirt, make sure your horse has been bathed, dried & groomed so they shine like a diamond! Clean & oil any tack you’d like to use in the session. Horses can be in a leather halter, bridle only, or fully tacked. Some horses can also be photographed sans tack.
Other Prep…
If you ride at a training facility, make sure to let your trainer or barn manager know when & where the session will be held.
Bring a friend or family member! Having a helping hand makes ALL the difference; if they are horse savvy, all the better! I need at least two people present for the session. If you don’t have anyone who can help, please let me know ASAP so I can arrange to bring an assistant.
Does it matter what I wear?
You’re more than welcome to hop into frame to get a shot of your & your horse together. If that’s the case, then I recommend wearing colors that compliment your horse’s coat! If you don’t plan on being in any shots, I highly recommend wearing mostly black or dark colors.
What about the location/time?
Almost all of my sessions are shot on location at the show or your home barn. Your location MUST have an accessible barn aisle if you are planning on black backgrounds. White background shots & natural background shots are a bit more flexible.
The barn aisle or other session space should be swept, clean & free from clutter.
I prefer to shoot these sessions around mid-day.
What if the weather is bad?
Both sunny & overcast weather are great for photos, but if the weather is rainy, windy, or stormy, I will let you know if we need to reschedule.
I keep a pretty close eye on weather forecasts and can usually let you know 24-48 hours in advance if rescheduling is our best bet.
How does payment work?
A $250 non-refundable retainer is required at the time of booking to secure your date.
Retainers can be paid via Venmo, PayPal or Zelle. The remainder is due before the session begins.
How/when do i get my images?
Please allow 3-4 weeks for processing all of the images.

Your images will be placed in a beautiful online gallery where you can view, download and share them on social media.
You will also be able to order discounted prints & products right from your gallery.
Digital files are great, but what about prints, albums & other physical products?
I believe there’s nothing more important than printing your memories.
Your online gallery will be active forever & so will your ability to order prints & products.
Your personal discount code will only be active for two weeks after the gallery has been delivered.
